Take a break at L’Isola del Sasso along the Via degli Dei

The route of the Via degli Dei (“path of the gods”) connects Bologna to Florence in about 130 km.

Retracing an ancient historical road system used since Roman times to unite the city of Felsina (Bologna) with Fiesole – Florence, the crossing – which does not present great difficulties – can be completed in six days or more on foot (depending on the training and the ability of the walker), or in two / three days or more by bicycle.

However, it is also possible to follow only a few sections of the Via degli Dei, to allow all walkers the freedom to build their own personalized route.

The journey

From Bologna, we start from Piazza Maggiore to go up to San Luca and then follow the Rhine along to Sasso Marconi. From here then, we climb to the unique landscape that is the Pliocene Contrafforte. Finally we reach Florence with a spectacular view from Fiesole.

Our farm is the ideal place to arrive in the early afternoon at the end of the first stage, after leaving Piazza Maggiore, to have walked the characteristic arcade of San Luca and to go back down to the side of Casalecchio di Reno to be guided by the banks of the Reno river, up to Sasso Marconi.

We are 3.5 km away from the official route and we offer a free shuttle service from the path to our facility the next day to resume the journey in the same position.

We have double, triple and quadruple rooms. Our restaurant is open from Wednesday to Saturday for dinner, and for groups of at least 10 people also on Mondays and Tuesdays.

In the morning our guests will resume their journey after a nutritious and gratifying breakfast and we will provide them with free water bottles.
